Nxabega Camp, Okavango Delta

"I was fortunate to stay at Nxabega during May, 2013 for 3 nights. During my time I had a brilliant guide called Rex and Joseph as my tracker who went out of their way to try and help me to see a live kill (the only thing I was missing from 3 different safari experiences).

The guys were brilliant and so enthusiastic about everything as well as providing great laughs and wonderful commentary during the drives. On my last morning I decided to not go out on a drive because of an early flight but Rex sent word back to the camp that he had found some lions with a fresh warthog kill and arranged for a driver to take me out there to get my much wanted photos. This is testimony to the wonderful service that was provided by everyone during my stay.

The food was brilliant and I especially loved the guacamole and home made bread crisps the kitchen made especially for me. I found that hanging out in the main bit of camp, editing my photos, enjoying the view and being spoilt for choice about which drink I wanted was a highlight when not on game drives. It was sometimes hard to drag myself away and get back in the car. Each night the staff provided a different dining experience which allowed guests to enjoy not only eating in the main dining area but also an outdoor bbq under the stars.

The tents were large and more attuned to a 5 star room than an actual tent. I loved the large shower in the middle of the bathroom although a little chilly in May but such is life. The little balcony overlooking the delta was lovely and hearing the hippo in the water during the night was an added bonus. The super comfortable beds and hot water bottle provided me the opportunity to have deep sleeps which allowed me to wake refreshed and ready to tackle another day on safari.

I especially choose Nxabega because of the water aspect and loved going on the moroko and the power boat sunset aperitivo cruise. I even got to do some fishing but unfortunately we caught nothing. The tranquility the water provided was a lovely ending to my safari adventures.

Anyone choosing Nxabega will not be disappointed."
